Task

New Task:

Similifferences

Together with your group, you will have a main investigative task to perform during the exchange. The result will be an article on the exchange blog, where you present your findings, and a brief oral presentation. Your task depends on which group you are in.
The name of the project describes the task; it is an amalgamation of two words, ‘similarities’ and ‘differences’, revealing the aim of the project. Your task will be to spot and present differences and similarities between the Italian and the Swedish, and describe what happens when the two meet. Your methods depend on which task you are assigned. Each task is a question. Your aim is to answer it.

Previous Tasks:

PHOTO CONTEST
Spot the place!

Roam the streets of the place where you are staying and take pictures of whatever you consider new, old, weird, modern, traditional; spot its landmarks (churches, fountains, statues, buildings), discover its feasts and its people, pop in the market place (if you find one) and compare similarities and differences between a village/town in Leno and surroundings and Gnosjo and surroundings! Have fun!

Group task: Similarities and differences

During the exchange you will work in groups of ten-or-so students, to create an oral presentation to be performed towards the end of the exchange. The task is simple, but you can be as creative as you like to make the end result interesting and fun to listen to.
Make a video, write a song, create a slideshow or write a short play…

Do whatever you want, to show the similarities and differences between the Italian and the Swedish school systems. That is the task.
Your presentation should be no more than five minutes.
If you like, you may use some of the following questions as a frame for your presentation:
  • When do you start your day, and when does it end?
  • Can you have your cell phone in class?
  • Do you have lunch in school?
  • What do you call your teacher?
  • What kinds of tasks do you do?
  • How do the grades work?
  • What do you do during breaks?
  • What happens if you’re late?
  • Do you need a hall-pass?
  • What clothes do you wear to school?
  • Who works in the school besides the teachers?
